Christmas in September!

I'm not sure what's going on, but two of my favorite home decorating stores, Target and Pier 1 Imports, have been having fantastic clearance deals as of late.  And as a result, I need to start selling some of our extra furniture pieces on Craigslist to build back up my 'home decor' fund fast:)!

Here are my recent Target finds:

It's an amazing haul, no?

The sunburst mirror was $12.08 (50% off).
The quatrefoil mirror was $9.64 (50% off).
The yellow rosette pillow was $12.48 (50% off).
The yellow shower curtain (which may turn into regular curtains) was $3.74 (75% off).
The leaf curtains were $4.98 (75% off).
The blue king bedding set was $24.98 (75% off).

After much searching, I did track down an azul floral 5' x 7' rug for $49.98 (75% off).
And a super comfy Home Medallion 5' x 7' rug for $32.48 (75% off).
The other rug that you see the top of on the left side of the image above is the azul floral runner for $22.48 (75% off).  I'm still debating whether or not that one is a keeper.

Since I picked up the blue duvet for my parents, my total for everything else is about $150, including the runner rug which may get returned.  That total is pretty amazing considering the 5' x 7' floral rug is normally $200 alone!

Now, on to Pier 1.  Here are my finds:
Total for everything pictured: $40.69.

2 Beaded Pillows: $6.18 each (75% off)

Fun Teal Throw: $12.48 (75% off)

Lantern: $6.18 (75% off)

Fall Potpourri: $1.78 (90% off)

Blue Bottle: $2.98 (75% off)

Succulent Tea Lights: $1.48 (75% off).

I've got big plans for all of these goodies.  Many of them will end up in our basement once we turn our focus to decorating that space later this fall.  I heart clearance scores!

Missoni Madness

Perhaps you heard about Missoni's collaboration with Target that hit the stores on Tuesday, the 13th?  I thought some of the items in the collection were fun, especially this bike:

Originally $399, but it's sold out online from Target.  You can buy it online through Ebay for 2-3 times the original cost, though:)!

I also loved this suitcase set:

Large suitcase $129.99 originally, now much higher on Ebay.

And finally, this ottoman which is still available online via Target for $99.99:

Most of these pieces sold out fast and the traffic to Target.com crashed the website for a good chunk of the day on Tuesday.  I've also read blog posts about individuals who filled several shopping carts with this merchandise with the intention of selling items on Ebay.  If you search Missoni for Target on Ebay, you'll see that there are a few listings right now:).  Craziness, I'm telling you!

I checked out the collection myself yesterday, and there was still inventory on some of the pieces at my local Target.  My favorites were the clothing pieces for little girls, but I'm used to paying Target clearance prices for clothing, so a $30 dress for Lucky did not hop into my cart.  I also liked the floral vases, but the quality wasn't great...as in the paint was chipped and smeared on several pieces.

Here is what I did pick up:

2 Milk Crates for $9.99 each
1 Make Up Bag for $24.99

I'm still trying to decide whether or not I'll be keeping both milk crate containers or not.  The blue and green one is a keeper, but even though the coral/brown/yellow/blue chevron fabric has taken the nation by storm, I'm not sure I love it for the home.  I love it on the bike and the luggage, but I'm not sure if I love it on anything else.  The color combination is just weird to me.  Am I crazy?

I picked up the toiletry bag because I actually needed a new travel bag.  The tag says $29.99, but the shelf said $24.99 and it rang up the lower price.  I took it as a sign, especially after I looked at the prices of similar sized non-Missoni toiletry bags at Target and found them priced between 20-30 buckaroos.

I think I got caught up in the hype a bit.  I think I'm not alone.  I'd be willing to bet that there will be more than a few returns going on in the near future throughout the country...and you never know when a random Missoni piece will end up on a clearance endcap:).

Swim Suit Inspiration

This post is random.  I admit it, but this swimsuit is so amazingly cute, I can hardly stand it!  I picked it up at Target (No surprise there...Target and I are BFF.) for $3.74.
Seriously, coral, aqua, white would be the perfect color combination for a little girl's room.  I love the ruffles at the top and the ribbons by the legs.  I could design a room around this.  Easily.  In fact, if I didn't just finish up Lucky's room recently, her inspiration hat might have been replaced by the swimsuit.:

In saying that, I'm by no means tired of her new room:

I still really love it!  In fact, I've got a few new projects that we'll be working on in the next few months.

The owl on the right needs a good coat of spray paint to stand out more.

I decided that the bulletin board wall is a little busy looking, so I'm thinking of making a change here.

Finally, I have an idea for this unfinished canvas.

So much inspiration.  So many projects.  So little time.:)

a pair of jeans,
a pair of shoes,
4 Sharpie markers,
8 glue sticks,
2 packs of pens,
2 scotch tape rolls,
a pillow,
a nail file

I'd take a picture of my receipt, but the total is a little bit higher than that because I also picked up some other things we needed like Dixie Cups and a poster board and some of the candy deals posted at Hip2Save.

The Target coupons I used are from the 'coupons' section at http://www.target.com/.  The Scotch tape coupon can be found here.

If you head to Target this week, let me know if you find these or any other deals!!

Target Daily Online Deal

Target posts a new 'Daily Deal' every day, and today's deal is pretty awesome if you're a bra wearer.  Select bras are buy one get one free, so you can get 2 bras for $10, but if you buy 8, you'll get 20% off your order.  Your order will go from $80 (before buy one get one discount applies) - $16 (20% off discount) -$40 (buy one get one sale) = $24 for 8 bras.  Free shipping also applies automatically.

And if you have a Target Red Card, you'll get another 5% off the presale price = $4 more off, bringing the total down to $20 for 8 bras.  And if you live in Minnesota, there is no sales tax on clothing.  And if you go through Ebates, you'll save another 3%.  Wowsers!  I had another $7 off a $70 purchase coupon that applied as well, so my total was $13 for 8 bras shipped to my door.  I'd post my order summary, but I don't need everyone knowing my bra size:).

They will sell out fast, most likely!

Update: My order came on Friday 5/6/2011...one week after ordering!
