Christmas in September!

I'm not sure what's going on, but two of my favorite home decorating stores, Target and Pier 1 Imports, have been having fantastic clearance deals as of late.  And as a result, I need to start selling some of our extra furniture pieces on Craigslist to build back up my 'home decor' fund fast:)!

Here are my recent Target finds:

It's an amazing haul, no?

The sunburst mirror was $12.08 (50% off).
The quatrefoil mirror was $9.64 (50% off).
The yellow rosette pillow was $12.48 (50% off).
The yellow shower curtain (which may turn into regular curtains) was $3.74 (75% off).
The leaf curtains were $4.98 (75% off).
The blue king bedding set was $24.98 (75% off).

After much searching, I did track down an azul floral 5' x 7' rug for $49.98 (75% off).
And a super comfy Home Medallion 5' x 7' rug for $32.48 (75% off).
The other rug that you see the top of on the left side of the image above is the azul floral runner for $22.48 (75% off).  I'm still debating whether or not that one is a keeper.

Since I picked up the blue duvet for my parents, my total for everything else is about $150, including the runner rug which may get returned.  That total is pretty amazing considering the 5' x 7' floral rug is normally $200 alone!

Now, on to Pier 1.  Here are my finds:
Total for everything pictured: $40.69.

2 Beaded Pillows: $6.18 each (75% off)

Fun Teal Throw: $12.48 (75% off)

Lantern: $6.18 (75% off)

Fall Potpourri: $1.78 (90% off)

Blue Bottle: $2.98 (75% off)

Succulent Tea Lights: $1.48 (75% off).

I've got big plans for all of these goodies.  Many of them will end up in our basement once we turn our focus to decorating that space later this fall.  I heart clearance scores!

More Pier 1 Clearance

I may have been stalking a few pillows at Pier 1 for a long time.  You see I have this throw pillow obsession, but I can't justify paying more than about $10 for a pillow, especially now that I can make them on my own, so I've been waiting for these to go on sale.

Last week, I hit the jackpot when these pillows reached 75% off:
Floral Bouquet Pillow, $9.98 (was $39.95)

Sunset Chevron Pillow, $8.68 (was $34.95)

Velvet Ric Rac Pillow, $6.18 (was $24.95)

Teal Chevron Pillow, $7.48 (was $29.95)

I haven't received my 'Pier 1 Rewards Certificate' from this post yet, but I did plan ahead and order a gift card for Pier 1 from Plastic Jungle and it was discounted 15%.  (I paid about $27 for a $32 dollar gift card.)

My total for all 4 pillows came to just a bit over my gift card balance.  I basically paid $30 for $130 worth of pillows (Less than 75% off thanks to the additional 15% discount received by using a Pier 1 Gift Card from Plastic Jungle).

Another Pier 1 Deal!!

I'm just loving Pier 1 lately.  Yesterday, I saw this pillow online for the clearance price of $2.98:

It's normally $29.99, and would make a great holiday throw pillow, I think.  When I saw on their website that if you use your Pier 1 card this month on any purchase (through May 30th), you can receive a $20 Pier 1 Rewards voucher, I knew I had to make the trip in.  Here is information on this promotion which is open to new and existing cardholders.  (I became a card holder when I bought my chairs for the dining room last year, and I believe this was the second time I used the card....we like to stick to one credit card (with the exception of Target and occasionally Kohl's because it's much easier to keep records straight with fewer cards)).

While in the store, Lucky also spied that Easter clearance was 90% off now, so we picked up a package of easter eggs for 78 cents, which we'll use to decorate next year.  Here's what we purchased:

Here's what we paid:

And, I'll be receiving a $20 voucher in about 6 weeks for more Pier 1 fun.  I feel like I just made $16!  (And remember from this post that Pier 1 has a handy dandy feature on its website that allows you to check inventory of stores in your area, which is really nice too!)
